About the hands-on software manager job:

Working closely with our executive leaderships and leading a 3-4 persons team in a fast pace environment, you will own and drive the development and deployment of our high-traffic, media-rich widgets. This position offers a good balance between managing and coding (50/50), and offers career advancement in both technology and management tracks.

About you:

The ideal candidate would have had a successful track record in a start-up environment, demonstrated leadership skills, but truly a technologist at heart. While you have been praised a good manager and you don't mind managing, you'd prefer rolling up your sleeves and do hands-on architecture, design, development, code reviews, etc. You enjoy looking under the hood of internet technologies. You frequent technical blogs. You have a passion for some or more of the following topics: performance, scalability, distributed computing, data mining / data virtualization, multi-media, internet technologies, etc. You may or may not know Python, but you are good at picking up languages. You write elegant code, fast algorithms, and smart objects. People like working for you and with you. You can balance short-term needs and long-term visions. Though not a product manager, you have good product sense and enjoy the thrill of developing high traffic consumer internet products. You see the growth potential in the social media space. You are selective about the next company you join - you are looking to work with really really smart people at a start-up with high probability of hitting a home run within the next few years. You have an appreciation for music, good food, ping pong, and a game of Wii / Guitar Hero now and then.
