Responsibilities:
* Implement core functionality of the company website by designing and implementing website logic that will run efficiently and can be easily maintained.
* Assist in developing specifications for new features and determine technical feasibility.
* Design interface of the features as well as the underlying code, including business logic features that communicate with the company database and client application.
* Debug and maintain the website in a variety of environments, including cross-domain and cross-browser implementation.
* Support changes in the generation process of web pages. Maybe be assigned to various projects using skills.
* The ideal candidate knows when and why to use tables, has knowledge of when an XMLHTTPRequest is useful versus when it is just cool, and can hand tune markup for efficient rendering.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of software or web development experience
* Expertise in building and maintaining web pages using HTML, CSS, and object-oriented JavaScript
* 1-3 years experience in at least one typical web programming language (Python, PHP, Perl, Ruby, etc.)
* Experience with HTML templating systems (Cheetah, Django, Smarty, CakePHP, etc.)
* Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, including Ajax networking (jQuery, MochiKit, YUI, Dojo, etc.)
* Comfortable with DOM manipulation (beyond innerHTML)
* Internet/web technologies such as browsers, firewalls, and http
* Rendering designs as efficient web-pages
* Working knowledge of source control software (CVS, Subversion, etc.)
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Graphic Design or related field
